Heyy!
I’ve been meaning to write this post for a looong time, but I wanted to be sure about the end result and usage before I announce anything rushed.
#nomakeup #dontgetscared #naturalface You got your warning!
I’M IN LOVE! As you may remember my earlier post from April, I’ve been blue (he-he) ever since. I found this new color brand from Instagram, and I wanted to give it a try, and for once I found something that seller ships worldwide and I can get my hands on!
Arctic Fox Hair color.
“Founded in 2014 by model and animal lover Kristen Leanne, Arctic Fox is one of the fastest growing hair color lines in the world. Kristen has had a long love affair with bright, vivid hair colors. But like many, she struggled with the shortcomings of available brands. After bonding with her partners over a shared passion for color, self expression, red wine and of course animals, they set out to create the best semi-permanent colors available today.”
They also use 15% of their profits to help prevent animal abuse, and are 100% cruelty free and vegan.
And they are not shibleebing with this. My earlier color faded within few washes, even if I mixed Igora with my conditioner, it wasn’t bright enough. Oh, why am I explaining, when I have the pictures to show you!
This is what we started out with, my hair actually looks brighter here than what it actually was, all faded out with blond sections and very pale blue.
I ordered two bottles to start with, Purple Rain and Poseidon, thinking that I will restore my earlier two-tone hair color, but I saw one video of mixing these two colors together and I loved the result so that I wanted to try it myself.
I called out to a friend of mine, S, who came to help me with dyeing. We mixed approximately 2/3 of Poseidon and 1/3 of Puple Rain.
It takes a bit less than the 8 oz bottle to dye all my hair.
I let it sit for 45 minutes (conditioner based, semi-permanent colors don’t burn your head or hair, I sometimes leave it on for an hour!) and wash it off with shampoo. That minimizes the leaking which some hair dyes do.
End result is to dye for! Perrfect shade of bluple. It did not leak on my neck or clothes or pillow, like all the others I’ve tried before.
After this first expriment, I didn’t do any touch ups or color fixing for a week, and it was the beginning of summer so I showered every other day, and here is what happened next.
You can see some worn off chunks, and the color is lighter, but all and all the shade is still the same. As it’s described in AF website:
“All semi-permanent colors will fade, but not all fade equally. Arctic Fox is formulated to fade within the original color spectrum, so as the color fades the shades will continue to be the gorgeous tones that your clients wanted.”
Count me in, I’m hooked! I would love to order one bottle each and take them to my hair stylist and see what she comes up with. She has tried af-colors for me once, as you might have seen in my Instagram, and fancied them.
And touch up is simple! Just a few drops of color mixed to your regular conditioner does the trick, these are super pigmented!
Color change is also fairly simple, for darker at least. My hair is bleached underneath, but we didn’t bleach it this time, and usually I just let the color removal sit on my roots for 15 min and wash it off, after that my hair is ready for semi-permanent colors.
I’m blond, my hair is straight, sleek and healthy, very glass-like, so I don’t need to bleach my hair for the shade, just for the texture.
We were invited to my friends graduation party, and I wanted something different for that, I let the color fade for a week, added more Purple Rain than Poseidon and ta-dah, here it is!
You can see this color in direct sunlight in my Ig-profile, there it seems to be a lot more purple.
All and all, I recommend Arctic Fox to all who use bright colors and love to try different shades! You can find the diluter (Arctic Mist) to mix up some sweet pastels, or mix the colors like I did, possibilities are infinite!
Second positive thing is the price. These bottles are as expensive as many other brands, $13,99, but the thing is, you get 8 0z. of product, where many others have 4 oz. You an choose the 4 oz. bottle for $7,99, but where’s the fun in that?
Third, the smell. When you get the package and open it up, the one thing that you’ll notice is the scent. It’s not too strong, and it is delicious, grapes of bubblegum or something sweet like that! I love it! I had to dye my mums hair with a regular permanent hair dye, and I already forgot how bad they smell now that I’m used to use Arctic Fox, ha.
We have ordered a couple times after this as a group, and I’ve turned few of my friends to regular af-users too! I recieved the shipping info for the last order yesterday, and this time I ordered something different, with the “blurple” combination. Well see!
Oh, and everytime you order, you’ll get points to get discounts! And inviting friends can get you points also, so here is my INVITE.
By using this link, you’ll earn me 25 points each, so if you’re interested and want to join Arctic Fox, please do me this favor! After you’ve joined, you can invite your friends and followers with your own link and get the same 25 points per person!
Life’s too short to have a boring hair!
There are no commercial value in this post (except the invite link!), I have bought all the products with my own money and my opinion is honest. C’mon, I have no sponsors yet!
